Davis & Walker with Laying Foundations Podcast

In this episode:

Christi and Angela are guests on the "Laying Foundations' podcast with Davis & Walker. This gives our team the opportunity to do a crossover podcast in which hosts from each podcast get to ask questions. This makes for a fun question-and-answer session from two like-minded podcasts in that, both podcast platforms are on a mission to share the voices and concerns of the trades industry.  Both podcasts genuinely care about the well-being of the construction industry and anyone striving to make a career from it. The construction industry is growing with tech and people who want to make it better but, there are still many issues that have gone unremedied for far too long. If you are interested in doing your part for the industry and the amazing family of skilled trades, then this podcast is for you. Listen to find out more!

About Walker:

My passion for construction began at a young age doing construction projects around the house with my dad. That was the first time I saw the transformative power of construction and the joy it brought to those around me (my mom loved it when we finished a project). Now, I work full-time as an assistant project manager for The Haskell Company. I coordinate with trade partners, engineers, and the project team building projects that will last a lifetime.

Davis Hambrick and I started Laying Foundations because we saw the problems and misconceptions facing the construction industry. We wanted to be a catalyst for change and we’re doing that by sharing the amazing stories of those who are in the industry. Laying Foundations releases a new podcast every Monday highlighting the incredible stories of our guests and why they chose the construction industry. We are developing coursework, newsletters, and preparing speaking engagements to help lay stronger foundations for those in the industry.

Our mission is to be the #1 resource for careers in construction. We are equipping the next generation of builders. If you ever want to learn more, talk, or need some guidance then let's connect! Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn, I am more than happy to talk with you!

About Davis:

Since my first mission trip in middle school, I was hooked on construction. Not only does it give you the opportunity to tangibly see your work at the end of the day. But it also makes you grow closer to the team you’re working with. I’m currently working as a full time assistant field manager for Brasfield & Gorrie where I am training to become a superintendent. I coordinate with our trade partners, plan upcoming work, and manage site logistics. When issues arise I work towards finding solutions.

Walker Lott and I created Laying Foundations to address the misconceptions that define the construction industry. Like Aaron Witt says - “If you aren’t telling your story, someone is”, and that someone is people who have no idea about how great construction is. We want to be known for sparking the change the construction industry desperately needs. Laying Foundations releases a new podcast every Monday with top guests that share their stories on how they got into the construction industry. We are developing coursework, newsletters, and getting prepared to start speaking to the next generation of the construction industry. Laying Foundations is striving to be the one stop shop for careers in construction, we want to be your ally in helping you find your passion in the construction industry.

We are changing the perception of our industry and equipping the next generation of builders. If there’s anything I can do to help you find your path in the construction industry, feel free to connect and message me on LinkedIn.
