Episode 49: Career Centers with Hollie Harrell

Christi and Angela talk with Hollie Harrell from ACTC (Anderson Career & Technology Center). Harrell has been at ACTC since 2002 and has been the Director there since 2014. We are excited to hear her story about how the career centers are helping high school students find their passions in the trade industry. Harrell tells us how connecting those students with skilled tradesmen and women is giving the students invaluable guidance and knowledge that doesn't come from just sitting in the classrooms alone. About Hollie:
Born in Bay City, MI and moved to Central Florida when I was 7. Graduated college with a Bachelor in Science in Business Administration and had an opportunity to teach "computer basics" to senior citizens. This solidified my passion for "vocational education." Taught two years at Winter Haven High School, moved to South Carolina and begin teaching in the Greenville County Schools. Spent the next four years getting my Masters in Educational Leadership. Opportunity posed itself 2002 in for the Assistant Director here at ACTC, became Director in 2014.
