About Anne:
Anne M. Ellis, P.E., Hon.M.ACI, F.ASCE, F.ICT, NAC is a recognized engineer, trailblazer, and champion of innovation and AEC industry advancement. Her career extends over four decades, six continents, and numerous boundary-spanning corporate roles enabling dynamic growth and innovation in technology, business, and operations. Currently, she is CEO of Ellis Global helping clients to harness the power of technology and innovation to grow and thrive in the engineering and construction industry. Additionally, she serves as a non-executive director on corporate boards and as a strategic advisor to several engineering companies and start-ups. By appointment, Anne serves on the American Society of Civil Engineers Industry Leaders Council and the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Building Sciences including chair (2021-2023). Previously, Anne has served by appointment as an advisor to five U.S. cabinet secretaries (2002-2018) addressing matters of energy, environment, and trade policy.
Recognized worldwide in the field of concrete, she served as the American Concrete Institute Board of Direction president (2013-2014) and is co-author of the “Concrete Design and Construction” section of the Standard Handbook for Civil Engineers, Fifth Edition.
Anne was inducted into the National Academy of Construction (NAC), the Virginia Tech Academy of Engineering Excellence, and the Virginia Tech Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni. Additionally, she was elected to Honorary Membership of the American Concrete Institute, a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and an Honorary Fellow of The Institute of Concrete Technology (UK). She is the 2022 recipient of the Construction Industry Institute Carroll H. Dunn Award of Excellence.
